Rep. Hernandez will provide the SOAZ Chapter with a non-partisan legislative update, to include information on bills that impact women and children and what is to come during the next legislative session. She will also speak to us about her experience running for office and serving as the youngest Arizona legislator.
Rep. Hernandez was born and raised on the south side of Tucson. She was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2018 and has served District 3 since taking office on January 14, 2019. She is the youngest representative at 26 and serves on the Health and Human Services and Federal Relations committees. Rep. Hernandez is a proud product of Sunnyside School District’s Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Public Health at the University of Arizona. She has further public health training from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
