ETHICS CLE OFFERED*
As in-house counsel, or as outside counsel to in-house counsel, you know there are specific ethical rules that apply to you and sometimes complications develop in these roles. Come get a quick primer on recent, nationwide, case law to keep from falling into unexpected traps!
Adriane is a commercial litigator who has represented companies, big and small, in both state and federal courts. Until recently, she was a partner at Quarles & Brady, LLP. She opened her own firm in September 2018. She is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado and South Africa. She also teaches a class at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona entitled "Practicalities of Suing the Government."
*The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement. This activity may qualify for up to 1.0 hour toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona, including 1 hour of professional responsibility.
Attending the monthly luncheon at the YWCA this month? Please bring unopened packages of pads or tampons to donate to the YWCA’s Project Period. There is a collection box in the lobby of the YWCA. You may be thinking, “Hey AWLA – why is the YWCA collecting pads and tampons?” Well, they’re expensive. They’re not covered by food stamps. They’re taxed. Please help out people with periods who cannot afford to purchase them. For more information, click here.
Looking for an excuse to clean out your closet? We’ve got you covered. “Your Sister’s Closet” at the YWCA helps underprivileged women get interview and job ready. Bring your professional clothing to the luncheons (seriously, so easy – you’re already going to be there) and make a difference in our community. Don’t have any clothes you’re ready to part with (trust me, I get it)? Feel free to make a monetary donation. For more information, click here. Want to learn more about the YWCA and/or other ways you can get involved? Feel free to contact Jennifer Espino at Jennifer.Espino@tonation-nsn.gov.
There IS such a thing as a free lunch, at least for guests of current AWLA members!
Do you know someone you think should be a part of AWLA? Invite a prospective member to go with you to an upcoming monthly AWLA lunch meeting, at no cost to you! In order to participate, first register yourself for the luncheon, then contact Marian LaLonde at marian.lalonde@quarles.com to request that the prospective member be added to the reservation list for the luncheon. Please provide Rona with the prospective member’s full name and email address. There are limits on availability so don’t delay and make sure you make your request a few days prior to the luncheon registration deadline.
Guests are permitted to attend one luncheon for free. Former AWLA members do not qualify for the free luncheon.
