One of the most common bar complaints against lawyers is poor communication. That’s true year after year. The second most common complaint? Diligence. To most clients that simply means doing what you said you were going to do. In other words, the top two complaints both involve communication! The good news is that the solution is simple. The bad news is that it requires constant vigilance. Attendees will leave with a better understanding about how to improve communication and reduce the risk of a bar complaint.

We’ll discuss:

Communicating at the right speed
The Amazon method
Understanding the communication culture

Rick DeBruhl understands communication. He’s the former Chief Communication Officer for the State Bar of Arizona. Previously, he spent more than 30 years at KPNX-TV as a reporter and anchor. He has also spent more than three decades covering auto racing for networks like ESPN, ABC, NBC and Fox Sports. These days he’s a communication consultant and the voice of the Barrett Jackson auctions on the History Channel and FYI Network. His book, Communicating at the Right Speed: 52 Ways to Fix Your Professional Communication Troubles, is available on Amazon.

AWLA members from around the state are invited to join this event. Members who register for this event attend for free. Non-members may register for this event for $20.
