Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted. You must get an email confirmation that your cancellation has been accepted PRIOR to the cutoff date. AWLA must pre-order seats depending on reservations and are therefore required to pay for those seats. Therefore, if you are registered, you will be billed whether you attend or not.

This presentation will provide an overview of the laws and procedures on how a person under the age of 18 can get the court to authorize her to obtain an abortion without parental consent.

Dean Brault is the Director of Public Defense Services for Pima County which supervises the Offices of the Public Defender, Legal Defender, Legal Advocate, Court Appointed Counsel, Children’s Counsel, Mental Health Defender, and the Public Fiduciary. He served as the Pima County Legal Defender for over 2 years. Prior to that, he was a felony trial attorney at the Pima County Public Defender’s Office for 18 years, the last 3 of which he served as a felony trial team supervisor. Mr. Brault has volunteered to represent minors seeking judicial bypass hearings for almost two decades and organizes periodic classes to train attorneys to act as volunteer advocates and guardians ad litem for judicial bypass hearings.
